ICICI Bank proudly advertises the feature allowing account holders to pay their bills online.
Well, I have been trying to get this facility to work for me since past one year, and still it doesn't.
Whenever I try to add a biller (ironically, my ICICI Credit Card) I always get the message 'Biller already registered'. If I check my list of registered billers, there is nothing there.
I have spoken to customer care executives at least 20 times, have been forwarded to their superiors at least 10 times.
After leading me click-by-click to the same error message which I was telling then about, they said I must be doing something wrong. They asked me to try on some other machine. They asked me to use some other browser.
Then they asked me to write to my Account Manager ... I did that, repeatedly. First 8-9 times, the Account Manager simply cut-pasted the standard procedure to me, as if I couldn't read that on the website. After that it asked me to contact customer care :-)
Then customer care asked me to go to my branch. I did that. They said that they cannot help me and to contact customer care :-)
Finally customer care asked me to go to Delhi to get this done ! I don't live in Delhi, and was not very enthusiastic about this. Still, just to test waters, I asked them if it was guaranteed that problem would be resolved if I go there. They did not want to commit, of course. So I wanted to know what if the problem could not be resolved in Delhi. It emerged that next suggestion would have been to go to Mumbai !
So, after 1 year, I am still unable to use this facility. And the icing on the cake is ... with every statement, ICICI Bank exhorts me to use this facility without delay ... I get mails from them which proudly list this feature and tell me, step by step, how to avail this wonderful facility. In case of any problems, they tell me to contact my Customer Care Executive ... without delay :-)
