This is my experience with ICICI Bank for holding their credit card. I had an ICICI credit card five years ago. I wanted to settle the account and close the business with them. There was an outstanding of Rs.35, 000 which I have given an offer letter for settlement. I have paid the amount on the day I received the letter. This happned in Nov 2007. Till now the account is not closed. This is April 2008. Now surprisingly there is an additional 1000 ruppes has come as outstanding.
I have called ICICI Customer Care and told them what has happened, but no one has taken appropriate step. They asked to send an email to customer care. I have sent with settlement offer letter copy. No response from them. After that I had to travel to London for my job and tried to contact them from there. I have made more than 50 calls. I have got four email ids but no one responded.
I can understand if your account is outstanding and having problem from ICICI guys, , but this quite strange, the account is totally paid and not being closed at all.
The process are very poor, employees are below the standards and therefore agony to customers.
Now I have terminated my ICICI prudential policy, closed my icici bank accout, closed ICICI direct.com and prepaid the ICICI Personal Loan.
I do not want any kind of business with ICICI anymore. I will also not encourage my friends to be ICICI customers simply because they will be harassed like hell.
The Bank instead of paying huge amount to Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachhan and Sachin, should spend money on training their employees, correct their internal processes and be customer friendly.
My request to all of you is to avoid any kind of business with ICICI. Let this bank go to hell. One such example to should the Indian Banking system.
