In those days when I had to send money to home, I had to go to a public sector bank for making a demand draft waiting in a queue for 30 minutes and then go to a post office and join another queue for 20 minutes and finally register post my DD, after that I had to anxiously wait for acknowledgement letter or phone call from parents stating money has indeed reached them.
Thanks to ICICI, this agonizing hard-ship is no more.
Now, I simply login to my icicibank account and fund transfer my money to my parents account and its transferred in less than one hour at absolutely no charge.
That’s what I call technology driven banking solution and ICICI is very aggressive in implementing Banking Solutions using technology.
I also have good experiences of using there online trading site ICICIDirect.com
ICICIDirect is the first asian web site to get KPMG international certification for maintaining standards in website management and auditing practices.
This site is primarily for people who want to buy and sell shares/mutual funds online, the big plus for icicidirect.com over other online trading sites is that we can directly link it with icici bank account and do transaction between banking account and demat account easily as they are from same provider.
Minus Points
To make my opinion more balanced I am adding some genuine problems I faced with them
Let me agree with other opinion writers on MouthShut that they are over crowded with account holders, they have to expand rapidly adding more branches and services.
ICICIDirect.com charges for delivery of shares(.85% per transaction) are highest compared to other trading sites charges.
If you visit any of the ICICI bank branches in metro areas you will easily find lack of proper customer care by staff who are over worked and are harsh in responding to customer queries.
My final conclusion of this bank is that its best bank to do online banking and trading with while others still have to match them up, but as far as human interface(customer service) it has to do lots of catching up to do compared to HDFC, GTB etc.
