I had to open my first Bank Account with ICICI Bank in 2003. Since it was the choice of my employer, I had no other option. I had to fill up the form wit photo & they told me I will recieve my ATM card & other things with in 7 to 10 days. But It came after 2 months delaying the process of my salary recieving.
Despite repeated requests, their employees kept on giving false promises. Also, they had given my ATM & Internet Banking PIN & passwords to some other person which is very dangerous & can be misused easily. I closed my account with in 6 months.
Also, they charge Rs. 109 per year for using our ATM Debit card which they offer us for free when we open our account with them. They charge huge deductions for maintaing a minimum balance of Rs. 5000 whch is very high.
Their internet banking technology is very weak & can be hacked easily. They don't do proper verification of facts before handling over sensitive information to other persons about our accounts like PINs & passwords.
I think we should all condemn these malpractices of ICICI & abandon it for other good banks like HSBC Bank, Deutsche Bank, State Bank of India & Punjab National Bank which offer good services and higher rate of interest. They are customer oriented & helpful in nature.
