I made a transfer of US$ 599.80 from a bank in USA to Indian Bank in Chennai, India on Feb 11, 2016. This money is for a religious function for the celebration of a child's birthday on Feb 20, 2016. I was thinking there was plenty of time for the money to be deposited in India for this purpose. Although the ICICI site showed that the money was received on Feb 13th. the money never reached India. In one of the receipts Feb 22 was a suggested as "DATE AVAILABLE". It never reached India. I started calling them. I sent several e-mails. In one of them I got an e-mail addressed to some one else and the content has no relevance to my queries.
On March 2, I got a call from ICICI asking me the details of the money transfer. Today the ICICI site says the money has been transferred on "18th Feb". What a travesty? What a Fraud? The guys in ICICI purposely delays the transfer to make some money out of this delayed transfer.
These are the days of instant communications. I do not know why there is so much delay - a delay of 21 days. The recipient has checked with Indian Bank several times and they are not at fault. I am ending more than one-year relationship with ICICI. I am changing to ZOOM.COM where it takes 4 hours for a transfer!
