I have a savings account with BOB from last 3 yrs. I am totally happy with service and behaviour of BOB associates. In month of May I thought to apply for credit card. As typical Indian mentality, I have perception that private bank's service is good than PSU bank's.
That's why I open a savings account in ICICI Bank and go for ICICI HP coral card instead of BOB cards. My CIBIL record is good so I was quite sure about getting ICICI Bank credit card but unfortunately my credit card was disapproved. ICICI bank doesn't inform me reason for disapproval at that time.(This is so called good service for ICICI bank). Rejection of credit card was not so big think but the procedure of ICICI bank was doubtful and shocking.
The procedure was as follows- After some da application of credit card I received a SMS from ICICI bank mentioned that your application is under processed and status will be informed within next 20 days. Just after 10 mins of this SMS, I got another SMS mentioning that your application is disapproved. Means ICICI bank check, verify and disapproved the application just in 10 mins which is not practically possible. After this incidence I correct my mistake and apply for BOB credit card. I received the same SMS from BOB like ICICI that your application is under processed but they informed me final status after 3 days that your credit card is approved.
Means BOB take 3 days to decide eligibility of a customer which is quite acceptable. From this example it is very clear that ICICI bank reject application for credit card without processing. It's my request to all banking customers to take precaution before applying for ICICI credit card. Even some of my colleagues which all ready hold credit card of another bank are not getting credit card from ICICI. Here BOB is more transparent than ICICI and also having good service. I got my credit card within 15 days of application.
