I have been banking with ICICI for 3 years now because I didnt have another choice 3 years ago. Had a hard time with customer service many times but do not want to jot those stories here right now. Just want to share a funny funny experience I had with a Stupid ICICI agent.
Joined a new firm, they gave me options to choose from ICICI, HDFC, Citibank or HSBC. As I already had an ICICI bank salary account I told my new company to just take my account number. But they insisted me to talk to the ICICI agent first as mine was not a local account of Hyderabad. I told them my previous company had not problems crediting salary in this "Non-Local" account and I got my salary on time.
Any ways I went down stairs - in the campus of the company to talk to the ICICI agent. He wanted me to open an account and wouldnt want to listen to me or about my old ICICI account. He said "YOU SHOULD NOT USE THE SAME SALARY ACCOUNT WHICH YOU USED WITH ANOTHER COMPANY"
I was puzzled, What the Hell!
Any ways I took a new application to fill up in order to get a new account created. He looked at my signature and said, "YOU HAVE A WEIRD SIGNATURE. I AM SURE THE BANK WILL REJECT THIS APPLICATION WHEN THEY COMPARE THE SIGNATURE" By that time I was fed up with the crap this guy was giving me. I have been using my signature since the begining of times and he has a problem with that. I tore the application in front of him and took an HDFC account.
I also told him, Thank you for allowing me to make a decision. I closed my ICICI account for good and will never bank with them.
BTW, few months ago I recieved a letter from ICICI stating that my grid based debit card was returned without being deliverd. I was wondering what the hell again because I already had a grid based gold card. Why wil they send me one and also why not delivered. I never investigated that crap because I dont have time to spend on every crap this bank does.
