The way a loyalty programs are structured can be best explained by I-mint, supposedly India's first and hence one with no ethics or process in place. Fromtie-ups which have remained drab since inception offering no value to consumers, to the ones which are in-built with complete ambiguity and system flaws so as to mislead happless consumers. One needs to keep track of non credit of points which is rampant, there is a constant attempt at pocketing these points without crediting them to the beneficiary account.
Having traveled frequently on the Air India domestic network and being eligible for requisite points upon providing the i-mint details at the time of reservation, I was shocked to be told that since it has been two months from the travel date points will not be credited to my account. They ask for a wait time of fifteen days for accrual of points which has never happened in any of my travel, presume there is no synergy with the airline at all.This has happened repeatedly and I am being constantly penalised despite complying with the requirements listed.
Never trust these guys especially in a land where laws either don't exist or are bent in favor of the mighty. Incase one is compelled to use services of such an agency, suggest keep a close watch on all your transactions and points accrued through I-mint.
