Let me share the wonderful experience I had with ICFAI University.

When I joined the University for MBA program.I had lot of expectations and dreams of holding MBA degree.

The first experience I had was with my financial accounting exam. Some of the colleges issued FAT(formulae) book to students and some didn't. hmm.Does this sound weird? I know, you might be thinking how can this happen?

Well.Yes.it happened. When some of us asked the so called student services department(SSD) about this, the reply we got was "ICFAI doesn't issue FAT book for Financial accounting exam". They even have this on their site. I replied back to them saying, I understand ICFAI doesn't issue FAT book to students for Financial a/c exam but my question is why students in other colleges got it? Again I got the same reply from ICFAI.couple of more email exchanges with the same copy/paste.i then ignored it!

[I passed in that exam though!:)]

My Second experience.

In my opinion, no one joins the institute/university thinking he/she will withdraw from it even before completing the course.(and ofcourse this is what atleast I believe).

But unfortunately due to some unavoidable circumstances and personal reasons, I had to Withdraw. Since, I had enrolled into EMI scheme.I had issued 18 PDC's to ICFAI.

I know they don't refund the amount. But atleast when a student withdraws from the course, they ask(or should I use the word "threaten") you to pay the remaining EMI amount. Wow! so even if you won't give any exams, utilize ICFAI's resources, you are asked to pay the remaining EMI amount.

I don't understand the logic in paying the remaining EMI amount when you want to discountinue. It atleast doesn't make any sense to me!:)

Does this sound fishy? Do they have any concern for students(or atleast operate like other normal and highly reputed institutes like for example Symbiosys - one of my friend had to discontinue PGDM in between due to some reason and didn't face any issue on that front)?

Anything you do like downloading previous papers you end up paying money in ICFAI. Even when you are withdrawing from the course you end up paying money. Looks like a money making business?:)

Well, I have to blame myself for not listening to my friends and colleagues.:( They had warned me before about the money making business! Now, all that is past.

I want to see if there is any one out there(reading this post) has withdrawn from the MBA program and didn't pay the remaining amount. If yes, can you please add your comment? I would appreciate it.

I read a lot of post on this in consumer forum but unfortunately all those consumer forums are down and I had to open the cached copy!:(

Not sure how many students like me have gone through this wonderful experience!:)

My sincere advise to the new joinees - please read each and every line of your ICFAI application form(including prospectus and other stuff related to MBA) throughly and if required more than 2-3 times as it looks like a mere contract than an educational application form.

But if you are a person who don't care about money, just want to join some institute for completing your MBA, doesn't care what/which type of institute it is, then you know the answer:)
