Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s man of the match was truly well deserved. His unique strategies were the key factors instrumental in the grand finale. After having lost the toss, Dhoni straight away put on pressure on the Lankan batting during the first 15 overs, thanks to excellent bowling by Zaheer and Munaf, and outstanding fielding esp. point & backward point (Yuvi & Raina).The Lankans fought back well with Jaywardene scoring that handy century, and making 100% utilisation of the batting power play.
The early dismissals of Sachin and Sehwag came as a blessing in disguise. Gambhir & Kohli played with utmost maturity. It was sad for Gambhir to have missed out on the golden century moment!! Once again Dhoni’s sudden intrusion at number 3, going on to play a captain’s knock in such a pressure game, worked wonders. Also, the idea of playing defensive against Murali & Malinga and going after the others was a revelation. The best part was the CAPTAIN finishing it in style was a SIX! Overall, it was a splendid, fabulous & brilliant performance by the ENTIRE INDIAN TEAM throughout the tournament. Yuvraj , Sachin, Zaheer & Rainaplayed key roles in crunch games. The Master Blaster Sachin's bestest**’ moment in life.
A GREAT WORLD CUP 2011 indeed especially for BLUE eyed boys, and cherished memories for billions of fans throughout the nation for years to come....
