I joined IBM recently and was shocked to see the pathetic state it is in India. If you are working in Noida/Gurgaon and are from technology other than cloud. then you are screwed. Mostly GTS people are happy here. Many projects. But GBS - SAP, Oracle, Java etc have not many projects.
Everyone in IBM talks about IBM fashion. Here are some highlights that I experienced:-
There is only one HR Ruchi who is in Gurgaon. Rest are either onboarding HRs whose only job is to collect printouts on induction day. or they are HRs that find projects for you. Most of these HRs will not be from your location. So all you do is beg on mail or call to find a project for you.
Most projects want to save money. So they put an employee on 50% utilization. So if you have just 1 project of 50% utilization your appraisal is screwed as on paper you are merely surviving in the company and working half day. But the project expects you to work 24/7. If you are really unlucky you will get another 50% utilization project. and then you will have to work for both projects 24/7.
And sadly if you are given a 50% utilization project then IBM HRs will ignore you and make sure you dont get another project as it will give them a chance to give you less appraisal. and you are obviously working 24/7 so why bother with another project. Its rare that people get 100% project.
Also, as soon as you join the immediately may ask you to relocate as there are hardly any projects in delhi/ncr. and if you're working remotely you will not be in contact with onsite/diff city team members. you will either work from home. or in some lobby/training room as temporary space.
Medical insurance is pathetic. Never expected from a big company. They deduct a premium. And if you have parents then there is additional premium of high rate.
