This is a book by Darrel Bristow-bovey, a satirical work on self-help books. I especially love the author's writing style and the way he puts across his message. I have never really liked self-help books myself, calling them crap and all sorts of names and this book put my thoughts into words.
It is so very funny, but very thought provoking all the same. Especially the one about ''anything can be faked''. Taken in the right sense, you can live by this! I have mentioned this to many people and most of them refuted saying, you wouldnot really be happy when faking because you know that it ain't true. But I say, take a specific example and analyze.
My case for instance... I was a person totally lacking self-confidance. I was a worm (not the despicable kind! :-)), trampled upon by all and sundry! I just put on a facade of self-confidance to see if it works, and by jove, it did. Yeah, I knew in the beginning that it wasn't really my 'true' self but hey I was past caring! But ofcourse, it also goes against the author's idea of 'improving oneself'!!
On the whole, I would suggest you go buy the book. But if you have friends and relatives like mine... who know me as an addict and buy me books at every other occassion, then ask them to do it!!!
