Those kids, they don't care much about the old shows. They'd rather watch shows like Friends and well, you know, the newer stuff. Old black and white t.v. shows are for old people right???
I am still considered(and still consider myself)a kid. A modern, in the loop, up to date teen, even. Maybe I do like newer comedy shows. But I have never seen one that has ever surpassed ''I Love Lucy''. There's no doubt about it.
Lucy(Played by Lucille Ball) is a crazy, ambitious woman who will stop at nothing to get that mink coat, new couch or spot in her husband's(Ricky Ricardo)show. She's forever planning and plotting with her friend Ethel(Vivian Vance), and her mischievious antics are forever getting her into trouble with her husband, friends, celebrities, even the law. Yet after each failed(Sometimes successful), catastrophic attempt, the next episode she goes right on scheming.
Don't get me wrong she's not some evil dictator, she's completely innocent, but wants her way, and who can help but love her? She doesn't want to cause trouble but always manages to dig herself a lovely hole.
Lucy is as immortal a figure as Marilyn Monroe, maybe, certainly hilarious, and always entertaining. Her comedy is as much welcome today as it was 50 years ago.
