I am Legend...Frankly speaking I became a legend seeing this movie.
11.00 PM show, my bro and cousins say...and I had the least idea of what I was going to watch...
The movie begins with empty streets, tall buildings that send eerie as u watch them standing deserted, abandoned.
The Brooklyn Bridge broken menacingly into half and a sole lonely man moving along the Manhattan streets with his dog, with his gun on his back like a hunter moving in the jungle, except that its only a concrete jungle.
And imagine the concrete jungle to be covered with tall grass and deer with tall antlers running helter skelter.
And as he is about to make a shot at the poor deer which has least idea of what’s in store for it,
He takes every step with great precaution; a lion with a ferocious growl pounces on his prey and holds it at the neck.
The movie starts with this scene, of course a brief intro with how the mankind faded away with a small virus.
There is a startling silence in the movie that can keep you on your toes and your hair stand as you give company to Will Smith in all his tanhayyee.
Day time is shown with such picturesque beauty that u would start loving the sunshine on the tall sky scrappers of New York which is weirdly empty even though it has one of the busiest streets at any hour of the day.
And as the night starts the fear smears on to you...sounds sending eerie down your spine...
The aggressive "monsters", well... humans (least looking like one) are so frightening that Will himself shivers while searching for his Sam(his only companion unaffected).
These monsters very clever ones, they set up a trap for our hero, and there starts our blood gushing with a high pressure as to how he frees himself before the sunsets and the "Dark Seekers" take over the world.
The movie moves on as Sam gets affected and Will is at his acting best when he has to kill his dog, he becomes lonely and faces combat in the dark: do or die.
Filming was done with such expertise that the look and feel of New York City has been completely modified.
The closing of streets for the various shots sent the New Yorkers crazy and the whole unit apologized for the inconvenience.
Effects for the "Dark Seekers" have been excellent, especially when a captive diseased female hyperventilates while being aggressive at the same time.
It was good to watch a Well Made Movie after a long time. I could give full marks to the acoustics and the sound engineers of this movie. Will Smith entertains us (without laughing this time) to such an extent that he fears, shivers, cries, and becomes Shrek for us.
A caution for all those weak hearts out there: this movie is not to be watched while you are alone, or in the dark.
