The Legendary Will Smith. Review on I Am Legend Movie

Prologue*

I went to the much-improved, renovated Sathyam Cineplex and was very pleasantly surprised. There is plenty of parking space, stylish décor and a fairly nice menu at the snack counter.

I stepped inside the theatre and up popped a sign “Please stand up for the national anthem” Wha??? I thought there was a mix up in signs… until everyone around me stood up….

….We settled down to watch an American movie after listening to our National Anthem.

(I am not sure if I can handle this much improvisation….)

*I am Legend is déjà vu.

The entire human race is in the verge of extinction after a deadly virus converts all into semi-gargoyles. These diseased species have humongous strength, no tolerance to sunlight and a thirst for fresh blood. Nope!!! you guessed wrong, they are not miniature versions from Transylvania.

Will Smith, of course is Superman, Batman and Robin Crusoe rolled into one.

He has complete immunity towards the virus, fights a bzillion, trizillion of the “Semi-Gargoyles” and continues to live.

And …he also finds a cure for the virus!!!!!

The special effects came from my home pc. The story came from my 7th Standard moral science text book

The movie, however, has a certain quality; a much abused idea is packaged well.

Will Smith has the perfect setting..A  traffic-less, Noise-less, Human-free world.

Will Smith's house is complete with all the modern gadgets and amenities

He can pick and chose the car he wants to drive from the neighbourhood;

Entertain himself with a horde of DVDs. Play golf on the US Aircraft.

Talk to his buddy-dog if he needed any companionship.

Zounds like utopia, huh?!!

A few tense and endearing moments sprinkled at the right times. One such moment was when he buries his only mate; a dog called Sam, and walks into a DVD store and cries to the Mannequin to say “Hello” back at him.

A couple of catchy dialogues...Will Smith talking to his dog about his Birthday,

yet another when he narrates the story of Bob Marley

I am legend is simple  and a complete entertainer.

Will Smith, of course, is definite eye candy!!!
