Definitily, to pick your choice from bunch of cars is not easy task. Since, I also got the guidance from the previous reviews, therefore it is also my duty to give my experience to others to make ease for their judgement to choose a car. I purchased i20-Magna in April, 2009.

Now discuss first and formost important thing-the Engine. It is DOHC (not SOHC like in Swift, Getz, i10-irde, ) i.e. Double overhead inspite of single overhead. DOHC is advanced technology to SOHC. It gives more power and torque per unit engine capacity or say more power/unit fuel than SOHC. It may also be judged by it's low per unit CO2 emission. Low CO2 emission means better fue burning i.e. better fuel efficiency. Other imp. thing, pollution control compliance like BS III/Euro III. Since, this car has very less CO2 emission, so it has Euro IV-V norm already. Pl. note that BS-IV will be followed from Year 2010.

Now talk about mileage, I am getting nearly 15-16 Km/litre petrol (without AC) in Kullu-Manali valley/hilly and suburb areas, however, Ist service is yet to be done. I have covered nearly 950 Km from 60 lit ordinary petrol. I think it is outstanding, for this heavy vehicle with 1065 Kg body wt. Power and torque is more than sufficient rather more balanced.

Some say it is underpowered, may be for them, but I think, peak power is not important (you are not purchasing JCB for digging), important thing is slope of power line in a graph depicting power vs RPM. If any car giving 80 bhp at lower RPM say 5000 RPM than 84 bhp at 6000 RPM, the first one will be more desirable becoz it will give higher power at lower RPM, which is needed for a car, in fact. Any car, which able to get 100 Km/hr speed within 15 sec, it is very good and i20 does. Not demand more than this if you want to drive (not fly) in Indian road (not in space).

It is highly balanced car with good centre of gravity. More length, More width but less hight, better aero dynamics, higher wheel bases (even than Accent) and higher kerb weight make it highly balanced hatchback car. Such stability of the vehicle has higher on merit than ABS/EBD. To stop the car from high speed, it needs almost minimum distance than others. At speed of 60, if any vehicle stops 8 to 10 meter before than othres, I think, you may judge better where such critical distance matter.

Look wise, very good, officially it has 5door sedan body and you can feel like it. It have more practicallity than sedan by expanding it's boot space . It is highly innovative, technologically advanced, practically good premium hatchback with very good fuel efficiency. In same price tag you may expect entry level sedan but with old tech, lowly efficient. At the most you are getting every thing of sedan with lower (at least 1 lakh) price. GO FOR i20 and feel the difference. Surely it will be good purchase for you.
