Modification: The review mentioned below was written when I was sure that i20 is the car I want to own. Met lot of dealers and finally chose HMP. I am today ashamed of my self that I actually wrote the review below.
Moment of truth:
I paid an adv booking amount after which the whole committement, pleasant talking of HMP went for a toss.
I was running from pillar to post for my finance were HMP was not taking my calls. They went under training. Surpringly SBI Car loan guys were much more decent and helpful.
I went to HMP showroom also 3-4 times after that but the guy refused that he made any committment of delivery to me in 21 days or ever told me that car is in transit. And when he was reminded that you committed a date he just casuaaly told me " Date to kuch deni hi padti hai naa, jab car transit mein hogi tp call karnge."
I was so furious that at that point of time. After that also no one called back for 4 days. Finally I went to chevrolet and bought an Aveo 1.4 LS . I understand GM is not doing well so may be they are more curtious but the total approach was decent and I got a good deal.
After I got the car, I am now struggling to get my refund from HMP. They are unneccessarily harassing me today but I am so pissed off today that I will take their happiness.
In the end sorry for tyour time which u wasted reading my earlier review which is below.
The earlier Review:
I will start with the basic premise that this review in not about i20 performance. I have taken a test drive and I love the car and am buying it. But in the last one week I have visited various dealers in NCR. And their responses have led into writing this review.
I own a Satro XO and was planning to exchange it for i20. So, had to visit different showrooms for getting it evaulated. There is no doubt i20 has caught india's attention. The waiting time being quoted is 30-45 days minimum. But there have been dealers who are treating customers like sh*t. I also felt this at 2-3 places and some some other people.
Examples:
NIMBUS HYUNDAI, NOIDA- I was interested in i20 was casually told "The vehicle is there you can have a look. Common I expect someone to attend. But then they knew that it will take 40 days to deliver so they were more interested in selling i10 which was readily available. I left my no. for telling me the time. No follow up in the last 5 days
SAMARA: It seems they are well booked for next two months. The sales guy was responsive but was only interested in getting a booking amount of 50000/- and delivery after 2 months.
Safdarjung Hundai, Gurgaon: I own santro which was bought from here. But they have made me travel to Gurgaon for 3 days in last one week.(My fault, I thought may be treatment will be better as I am old customer). But on phone the lamest of excuse of a sales guy " The person who had to confirm the details is on leave for next 3 days". Common for 1 week every thing was fine, evaluation of car done, papers were fine, we will collect the cheque from office bla bla. suddenly i20 is not there and may be they quoted to low for adv amount or may be quoted too high for the car.
Hyundai Motor Plaza, New Delhi: Let me admit these guys are the best of the lot. The rate quoted for my old car is not the highest. But atleast there is a decency in the behavior. Seems will end up losing 10-15k here in sale of my old car. But then atleast they give me the due respect and time which a customer will expect. I must say Hyundai must do something about the sales personnel training.
