I bought this car in Dec, 2010. I had difficulty in choosing from quite a few car available in the same price range that time, namely Chevrolet Beat, VW polo, Ford Figo, Maruti Ritz. I did test drive for both Ritz and i10.When I compared both the cars, I found Ritz to be more spacious than i10, but the interior of Ritz was disappointing.
That single factor helped me to decide for the right car. i10's interior was far more elegant than that of Ritz. One more thing was on the back of my mind, the mileage of both the car's. While i10 was advertising that the new kappa2 engine would give 21 kmpl, Ritz did not have any advertisement like that. Anyway I had already decided on my car and the mileage of 21kmpl simply looked like a bonus.
However after having done my first servicing and driving for nearly 7 months, I am yet to get that dream mileage. My i10 is giving roughly 17 kmpl on highway and 12 kmpl on city drive. I inquired that other cars in this range are giving better mileage. So my advice would be take this mileage factor out of your mind if you are going for i10, because what ever they do to their engine, it is still going to be a petrol guzzler just like it's earlier versions.
Apart from mileage I don't have any other issues with i10. The engine is quite peppy and responsive and it really comes handy in city drive. The highway drive was pretty good too and the performance of the engine was satisfactory. The AC is good if not excellent.
