Looking for a Hyundai. Just share with me the brand named Hyundai.

Welcome to Nimbus Hyundai. I went there in looking to book accent. Enquired whether it is going to be phased out or not. "Sir abhi kuch pata nahi" pat came the answer. I feel even god don't know about it let alone the hyundai sales person.

He suggested me to go for Getz. I asked them to show me the vehicle and let me know why should I buy it (I mean to ask what are the benifits of this car). He only give me a brief introduction. In fact I know much more as they are easily available on net. I actually start feeling uneasy as I feel he is not interested in entertaining me. When I ask this man to show me the vehicle on demo "Sir gaadi abhi showroom mein nahi hai". The only car they have in showroom are i10 every where. I feel they only want to sell i10s or vernas. He is ready to show me i10 as verna is out of my cup. Quite reluctantly I accepted his offer.

Now here is the i10.

*Exteriors:

I don't know what to say. The looks from outside are always a subject of personal taste but I HATE its looks. I don't know why. It seems more a football to me. Very short bonnet area and very funny too. Can be dangerous at the tiome of a head on collosion. From back it seems some one has kicked the football. Believe me. Actually nothing worth mentioning.

*Interiors:

*Now here changes my perception about i10. Really good looking and different actually. And Really spacious. Quality of plastics used are better that others in its league. But I want to notify one big irritant that the colour biege which is used is very bright which initially looked very good but while driving when sun rays fall on the dash board they will reflect directly into your eyes and your dash board will tend to irritate you as it will disrupt your view as you see through the wind screen. Gear lever is hillariously designed into dash board and the gear throw is very sleek. Gear shifting is smooth enough but sometimes it tend to mis-slot into required gear. I am actually a rally kind of driver and gear shifting is very important to me.

The most annowing thing is the placement of Accelerator and brake pedals. If you are driving in a very comfortable position and all of a sudden you have to apply brakes the you have to raise your whole leg a bit and put you foot on the brake pedal. I am a santro owner and when ever I find myself into such a situation I simply raise my foot a bit and apply brake but the story is somewhat different in i10. Atleast for me it is very difficult to raise my whole leg to apply brake every time.

Rear legroom is also not enough for a 6 foot person. I am 5.8" and I also find a bit difficult to get a comfortable position. Not at all advisable for long run. Boot space is also not adequate enough. Inetgrated head rests are useless for a short person and also don't give adequate support to normal Indians.

Over all the interiors will give you a mixed feeling having a negative feel overall.

Comfort:

The driving position is comfortable enough. Suspension system is also adequate. Power steering system is very very light. It is very much comfortable in cities BUT on highways it is not advisable. You tend to oversteer un intentionally. Seating is good for four but not for 5 persons.

Engine and mileage:

It is having the same engine which does its duty in santro. So don't expect a performance car but a comfortable city car with good emission norms and adequate mileage. As far as mileage is concerned it returns about 13 kmpl in city which puts it in between santro and Getz 1.1.

To sum it:

Overall I will suggest the car buyers to avoid i10, and don't follow it too. Just spend a bit more and get far better cars or save some money and go for maruti small cars or others like SPARK.

For any help kindly message me on mouthshut.

Drive safely. Wear seat belts.
