I bought my first car a Hyundai-i10 in about 2 months of its launch (dec 2007). After reading road tests and reviews, I got the virtual yellow car and I enjoyed
The initial curious looks from onlookers and the car has clocked around 11000 kms so far most of it has been from our trips to coorg, mysore and ooty.
Interiors: Interiors are the best in class, although its a small car it gives you a more roomier feel and the sound proofing is just amazing. And comes in handy when driving in maddening city traffic. When compared to any other maruti product the interior plastics are of refined quality.
Comfort: The shocks are better chosen for indian conditions as they absorb any irregularity in the road with ease when compared to santro or alto. Good leg space at front and rear, AC is very efficient
Performance: The initial pickup is decent and I have managed a comfortable speed of 130kmph without the occupants even realising it , however I have found that after running the car for 100+ kms at a stretch the car becomes very sluggish on inclines even with 3-4 occupants and their luggage. On my first trip to coorg I thought this is because the car has not completed the initial "running-in" period but even on my recent trip to ooty we had a very tough time climbing the 36 hairpin bends even with the 1st gear
Mileage: My car gives me a mileage of 17kmpl on the highway and 13kmpl in the city(with AC sparingly used)Best suited for: Small family who use the car mostly in the city and very little long distance travel and a big NO NO if you live in a mountainous region. To sum up I found the i10 to be a very good city car.
