My dream car. Review on Hyundai Verna

I own Verna fluidic vtvt sx(O) since 2013 Nov. and till now I am driving it. My odo reads around 22, 000km. Let me start my review with bad things first.

Bad:

-

1. Its suspension. How I wish Hyundai to fix this issue if not free. I am always ready to pay. But unfortunately it never happened. The suspensions are tuned in softer side; it is so soft that sometime it feels like I am on a boat. Our Indian roads are legendary to have speed barkers, big big pot holes and what not; if I am not careful enough then surely the body underneath will suffer injuries. Because of the wobbling effect almost 70% of rear passengers suffer motion sickness and eventually vomits. My parents are one of them:-(

   
   




2. Though my model is optional(TOP), it has only driver and passenger side air bag. No curtain and side air bags available. Prior to my purchase, their website displays 6 air bags.

   
   




3. No speed sensing auto door lock. Prior to my purchase, their website says this model has the feature.

   
   

N.B: I wrote several emails to them but they never wrote me back. It seems they don’t care their customers at all.

Good:

1. Looks: awesome;

   
   




2. Engine and transmission: superb. Its powerful and punchy. Overtaking? No problem;

   
   




3. Gearbox: Not as good as new generation verna 4s, even the i20 gear box feel better than my verna;

   
   




4. AC: Highly efficient and precious. It is equipped with auto climate control with clean air technology;

   
   




5. Seats: Pretty comfortable though not so good thigh support;

   
   




6. Steering: Its electronic power steering. Good feedback in all speeds. It weighs heavy by increase in speed. Some people have problem saying it doesn’t feel confident but in my opinion its good.

   
   




7. Brake: Its not that quick but great if discs are wet or hot. ABS is cranky.

   
   




8. Cornering: Usually sedans are good in cornering. Verna is ok.

   
   




9. Fuel efficiency: average drive in city yields around 10-12 kmpl but in highways I have hit even 14-17kmpl with AC. Its pretty surprising for such a big engine.

   
   




10. Infotainment system:  Average. I have installed Sony subwoofer with amp(1000W). Its awesome.

    
    




11. Cargo space: Its good. Because of spare tire and subwoofer my space has shrieked.

    
    




12. Headlight: My model is equipped with halogen projectors which is wonderful. Good coverage and throws long distance. Night drive became easy. I have ungraded to xenon now. This is more awesome.

    
    

Final verdict: if you are passionate like I am then go ahead but if you want a driver’s car then don’t look at it.
