Verna CRDI-SX 1 year and 7000Km later. Review on Hyundai Verna

I had, a year earlier, written a review of the SX CRDI based on my test drive. The cars been close to one year now and has done a relatively low 7000 KM. This is owing to me being away from the country on work.

*Toubles(Induced trouble rather than a complaint)

One returning I found to my disappointment that the performance had taken a nose dive, with even auto rickshaws moving faste(literally).This for a car which was shattering fast.I took it down to the service station, and found that the pipe which connected the vaccuum pumpm to the VGT exhaust was bitten by rats. Once the pipe was changed(apprx Rs 250), the car was back to its adrenalizing best.

*Performance & Mileage

Lets not waste time on the perfromance, which is stunning, very driveable in the city as well, albiet with a few gear shifts. I always drive with the A/C on and I get around 12.5 KMPL in Bangalore city. On the Highway the car runs for 18.5 Km on a litre of deisel. iSwitching on the A/C doesnt seem to have any noticeable impact on the performance

*Ride quality & Ground clearance

*Very unsettling low speed ride owing to soft suspensions. However it is extremely good at high speeds.I had the experience of going over a speed breaker at 110 KMPH on the bangalore outer ring road. It was night, aided by the lack of street lights, lack of markers, and glaring head lights  i saw the speed breaker too late and braced myself for some serious thuds. Its surprisingly uneventfull though-not even a sway. The ground clearance specs of 170 may sound less. But this suffices to clear the nastiest of speed breakers and roads in bangalore.

*Handling

*Great feel and feedback from the steering, and excellent manouvreability. However there is noticable body roll when cornering fast.

*AC

*Very effective.

*Interiors, Space and Comfort

*Owing to the color, interiors have a tendency to get dirty. But the interior design provides excellent useable space. The seats are reasonably comfortable, with the only glitch being the thigh suppport which is poor.

*Service -Trident Hyundai, Bangalore

*Pretty responsive, and friendly. The only issues that I have faced are that after the first service I lost the SX badge, after an interiors shampooing I lost the rear seat Knob.

Overall experience has been very satisfying.
