The famous ugly duckling dooing well in Indian public is no surprise for me.
As we here in India, major part of buyers run in the same direction where there is more crowd running (l'll come back to that later in the review)
I m not saying that the car is bad, it is much more than that.
The lack of driving control is felt on the highways where my cute lil zen excelled, by that I mean cornering, even in the city the car tends to leave the behind swaying which makes people nervous.
The tall boy design is well suited to guys like me more than 6 feet but the zen is not uncomfortable or for that matter wagon is the best.
The car was unable to cross the high speed driving in the mumbai- pune highway and I felt real irritated for lack of control.
Engine wise wagon employs better technology than the santro even the xing lacks punch
Now a car like the Palio - best seller and car of the year in europe which is far more safer and richer is rated worst only for the mileage,friends the palios avg is only 2/3 kms lesser than the santro and it is because the side safety beams and heavy doors that protect you in case of an accident.
Well a car like the Qualisdoing well here which was sold in the other countries like gulf in 1979 with high mantainence costs is again an example for us that we run in the same direction as others do.
I would definitely advice you to go in for a wagon as the comparison betn the palio and santro is unfair .
But apart from wagons looks the car is excellent in ride handlling and mileage and of course the service backup of maruti.
The plastics on the santro feel low quality and the dashboard keeps opening on every pothole or speed breaker
Go and Buy the wagon instead, you will bless me.
