This is my second review writing on this forum. The first time I had written enquiring whether to buy Santro or Estilo and I had recieved useful tips from the members which helped me buying my first new car. Finally I settled down purchasing Santro Xing GLS petrol in Aug, 2009.
The dealer at Chennai gave me a very handy discount of 32k on the vehicle's ex-showrrom price but their sudden demand for additional 4k made me think on the dealers credibility but they were right in asking as I was not aware that Santro GLS is introduced with new styling on the exteriors and their beige interiors. But I had not regrets, since my dark grey exterior color might not exactly fit in with beige interiors.
I had just completed a long trip on this car. Overall the car looks handy in driving on Highways and bumper-bumper traffic within city. It has a good quality steering ensuring complete control to swerve in traffic prone areas. I have been getting a mileage of 12 kmpl and 15-16 kmpl with AC being'ON' on highways and city respectively. The suspension is to improve very much that even in the front seat you could feel the rough effect on driving through the bumpy roads. Since I am new to driving, I have tested myself at 120 kmph on highways but I could feel that this car may not be apt to go beyond 150kmph. I don't know what others will comment on this!
Overall its a nice car and I feel pretty satisfied. Had I been getting an additional 2kmpl mileage, I would be enthralled:)
