Hi, Before I get into reviewing the car,I would like to thank Mouth shut from the bottom of my heart for making my decision much easier in terms of buying this beauty called Santro Xing.

Like everyone else I too went researching for the car that would suit me and my family's requirement.

My research started with TATA INDICA..I did test drive the vehicle but the inertia of going for a diesel vehicle counted against it since I would be using my vehicle primarily from my residence to office which is approx.20 kms to and fro plus I read various articles mentioning that if u drive for less than 13,000 kms in a year then it does not make sense to go for a diesel vehicle..

Also my bible (Mouth shut) had some various dis-satisfied customers of TATA INDICA plus the overall rating for INDICA (Diesel)in MS was a non-flattering 65%.

My next research station was MARUTI UDYOG LTD (U cant skip maruti.)..Maruti 800 was too cramped for my liking and so was the case for ALTO 800 which being good looking added to its charm but the inner space and the same 800 cc engine in the LX and LXI variants didnt appeal to me a great extent.

ZEN was ruled out due to its inner space especially for me as I am 6 ft tall and driving with my legs cramped didnt make it an enjoyable experience.

Then came the most interesting dilemma of my life when I test drove WAGON Rhere I must say that it was a beautiful experience driving this car also getting in and out was absolutely hassle free, and the drive too was very smooth but here again my bible (MS) helped me by pointing out minor hitches in the car..the rear windows do not completely go in when you unroll it and secondly the accessories and pricing offered to me by Maruti went against it.

Though I was completely impressed with WAGON R..I decided to check SANTRO XING as this was the last car left in my check list which needed to be checked out, so I landed up at SHARAYU HYUNDAI at Shanpada (Navi-mumbai)..

The test drive was mind blowing and the sales person too was warm and cordial..I checked out the AC which was powerful though a bit noisy when turned fullest, leg space was ample, roof was sufficiently high as not to spoil my hair style..:)),side mirrors, tail lights and especially the looks were all very impressive.

My bible too had suggested that santro xing scores over wagon r, even the ratings (santro xing still enjoys more than 90% ratings as compared to wagon r (81%) and to top it all my family felt that this is the right choice !!

So here I am with almost 5 months old, Santro Xing, and nearly 3000kms completed, I must say, that its still is a wonderful experience driving this beauty and to top it all I get a mileage of 15-16 without AC in the city and approx.13 Kmpl with AC on which is at par with Wagon r.

Though Indica rules the roost here but then its petrol variant isn't too impressive in terms of mileage...

This was my first car and I would advice all to GO AHEAD WITH SANTRO XING and feel the Xing inside you.
