I visited Hyundai Motor Plaza(HMP, Mathura Road) today to service my 2005 Santro. I heard decent/non decent/ok reviews about HMP, so thought to give it a try. Though I stay in Noida, and there are 2 Capital Hyundais near my office and home, so HMP was about 15 km away for me. But 15 K+ 15 KM(both sides) is not too far if you are getting a good service.


I reached there at HMP Mathura Road at 9(sharp). My appointment was there at 9:50, so well ahead of time. Security guard created a card for me, but he gave me box number 10 as my appointment was 10th. I thought no use of come early but still liked their process oriented approach. I went inside to the reception and they asked me to wait until my turn. At last about 30 mins later around 9:35 one service supervisor announced my car number and I went with him. It was a paid service with some work in AC cooing and windshield liquid pipe. He was done by 10:00 AM and gave me an estimated time about 3:00 PM. He said it could increase once AC is checked. I thought I'll be free by 4 or 5 at most.


I waited there in the waiting lounge for around 15 minutes then thought to check if the car has been sent to workshop. I came out and saw the car was parked outside only and nobody was working on it. I thought they have 9 car appointments before me, so it might take some time. I went into the waiting lounge and watched TV for few minutes. Then from the waiting lounge window I saw car with box number 13 was inside the workshop. I thought my car must have been sent by now. So I came out but it was parked there only and nobody was working on it. It was 11 at that time. I called my supervisor and asked him about this. He updated me that he has given instructions in the workshop and it will go to bay soon. I waited for 1 hr more and came out again at 12 PM, and it was still parked there only. I called my supervisor again and he updated me the same again. Well this time after few minutes, one member went to the car, he sat in the car and start driving. I thought he is taking it to bay and I walked towards waiting lounge, but before I could even open the door, he chaged direction and parked the car out side only in a different parking.


I called my supervisor again and he updated the same again. At 1 PM everybody left for lunch. I waited in waiting lounge again until 2. At 2 PM when everybody came back, I went to my supervisor again and this time somebody brought the car in the workshop and parked in front of a bay. It was 2:10 at that time. I stood up there to see when technician will start work on my car. Bay in front of my car got empty at 2:25 and I thought my car would be next. But to my surprise, some other car from behind came and occupied that bay. My was still parked in front of the bay only. I called my supervisor and reported to him. He said that next number would be mine only. I waited for half an hour more and middle bay got empty, but another car for a different supervisor occupied that bay as well.


Now I was totally frustrated. Service supervisor had promised 3 PM for delivery and here at 3 PM, nobody even started working on the car.


At last, I asked at the reception to create gate pass for me. I drove my car out of the workshop, parked there in the parking, and locked that.


Though I left "Worst service feedback experience" at the workshop, but I doubt, those guys will allow that to reach to the management.


I reached back at my home at around 4:45 PM with full day frustration and a very good learning experience that was "NEVER GO TO HMP, NEW DELHI WORKSHOP AGAIN".
