23 months, 23000 Kms, my getz has come a long way with me. amazing performance and reliability. Never did she let me down. No suspension problems or no braking issues. All electricals

working pefectly fine. I havent had to spend a single penny on any replacements. Have been regulalry servicing at Hyundai service centre. Have done wheel balancing thrice.

Has been a very happy riding experience!!

Hey, 10 months and couple of long drives are good to add a few more comments to my review on Getz.. :-) I have nearly done 8000kms on my Getz of which 6000 has been hard core bumper to bumper city drive in Bangalore. So have some better research on city fuel economy figures..I get 11kmpl with AC and around 12kmpl without AC. And friends, fuel economy figure also varies from petrol-bunk to petrol-bunk. So find a good one and regulalry fill from same station. Highway figures are good, not great. I got 15kmpl with AC on highway. I drove from Bangalore to kochin via NH47 and later returned via ghats of sathyamangalam and Mysore.. Speeds .. I could touch only 140kmph ... I wish I get longer stretches where I can push little more on my Getz.. Cons: I noted that AC vent does not fully isolate external air coming in.

Here are some more quick updates! little late to put them here..... :)

Getz has been fabulously responding since I got the 3rd free service done.. mileage also has improved ..The city mileage in B'lore has shot up past 12kmpl with AC.. and highway mileage too shows some improvement.. with AC I could clock 16.5kmpl ..

But I do feel a lag in engine response in 3rd gear at slow speeds.. The lag is more pronounced with AC turned on. Will check up with Advaith Service soon .. But on th whole has been a very pleasant experience with getz.... I have touched 15000kms..... offlate I have driven her less as I have been outstation mostly ..

I hope my review help you make a balanced decision in your choice of car.!

cheers

Read on ... my previous review on Getz..

I bought a Getz, a potomac blue GLS version in July 2005. Did not opt for the high end model with ABS. ABS though is very good feature to have incase you are used to doing lot of long drives on highways. Till now my experience with the car has been great. Its very good to drive in city.Especially it has good amount of low end torque. You can be on the third gear and still driving as slow as 20km/h. Basically it means lesser gear shifts in city.It has a decent pickup and performs well with AC turned on also. The only thing I felt little disappointed was the response in third gear.Sometimes you experience a lag between throttle press and the car's response. Getz is a heavier car and hence gives you a good road grip.Sharp turns at speeds above 45 kmph can send butterflies in your stomach. The wide A piller does obstruct the drivers view at times. Need to get used to it while maneuvering turns. The best mileage it has returned in city driving is 12kmpl and worst is 10kmpl. Iam talking about bangalore traffic conditions here. Interiors of the car is something which I fell in love from day one. Both the finish and the space you get inside the cabin are best in the class. The console with tachometer looks awesome and digital trip/odo and digital clock are good add-ons. Lot of my friends have appreciated the front wide dashboard. Rear 60:40 split seats are very useful. The boot though not big is sufficient and can always be supplemented by folding the split seats. One more good thing I forgot to mention is the reduced noise levels inside the cabin. Its very very low. Price ? Slightly costlier than the competition ...(read Swift), but the fit and finish and the build quality of the car is good enough to bridge the gap.
