I purchased Getz (GLS) in the first week of November 2006. My car has run 1900 kms till date without a tech hitch.
> Take off - creamy smooth
> Gear shifting - Comfortable. But sometimes not smooth (But Not so good as in a Toyota). Probably more usage will smoothen the movement. I don't know.
> Breaking - Smooth
> Steering - Height adjustable feature is really good
> Max speed reached - 80-85 kmph --> no shaky experiences even at this speed.
(FYI 90 kmph is max before 1st service). So still to test higher speeds.
> Hatch back opens up quite a bit of space. Good enough to hold 4 average sized bags (each bag of size 30x30x75 cm). This is without folding the rear seats. That's some space. Isn't it?
> Seating capacity - 5. Max 5 persons is good for short drives like 80-100 kms. But may not suit long drives (>100 kms) depending on individual's size ;) 4 is absolutely comfortable for any distance.
Few hitches I faced after purchase are
1) After installing Autocop, the board in which the attachments were installed wires hung out loose after a month. A quick call fixed the problem within an hour. It was a scary experience as I didn't know what wires hung out near the break and accelerator pedal.
2) On the way to a 400 kms long trip (5 days ago) from Bangalore, heard some noise from the bonnet at around 25kms. With no idea of whatsoever caused it, looked around if it was from engine itself. The sound was detected to be coming out of a speaker just under the bonnet. Later reached Mangalore's Standard Hyundai service station. Service people looked at the problem and mentioned that the AutoCop wire was hanging out loose which came in contact with the engine belt which wiped away the wires plastic coating shortening the connection and so the sound was from Autocop speaker.
In the both the above mentioned problems faced I feel that it was a dealer's faulty workmanship which lead to the dissatisfaction. The vehicle is just great. My brother-in-law owns a Toyota Qualis which has not shown a single trouble since it's purchase 4 years back. Now, that's some customer satisfaction !!! What do you say?
Note: I'll keep this updating this post as and when possible. So, my rating may also vary. Keep your eyes open :)

I forgot to mention about the mileage.
Very aproximately 18kmpl from Bengaluru to Mangalore (without A/C). Ghat sections on the way just erodes all the savings which the straight sections give.
Now first service is done. On my next long drive I'll reveal more statistics.

OK. Here's a continuation.
This time I would like to empahasize on 60/40 design of the rear seat. Designer of this feature needs applaud. On 8th Sept. my relatives were leaving for U.S and their 4 huge Check-in bags and 2 normal sized cabin bags. After folding the larger seat (2 seats) it could easily accomodate 2 large bags, 1 bag was fit in between the folded seat and driver's seat and 1 bag was made to stand. 1 cabin bag was put beside the standing bag. The left out (1 cabin bag) had to be carried on the lap. Passengers were the driver (me), one co-driver and one on rear seat. That's 100% info for you. The entire journey to new Bengaluru airport was awesome. Of course, the pickup went down. But the amount of space inside is extremely good. It convinced me again about my purchase.
One draw back: It was raining that night, so had to shut all windows and switch on AC. Once traffic signals opened up, the pick-up was bit disappointing. 1st gear pick-up was OK. Upon switching to second gear, the pull was not so encouraging. Mind you. The total approximate weight inside the car was 75+65+65+92+15=312 kgs (excepting car, of course). The max load allowed is 450 kgs is what I recall.
Last calculated mileage = 13.95 kmpl (Averaging 220kms outskirts drive 350 kms city drive)

Got my car serviced (paid) in Trident Hyundai, Hosur road. I was billed Rs 5, 000/- as the car has just crossed 15, 000 kms on the meter. Estimate was 4, 500 out of which 2, 800 was for components to be replaced. Rats had damaged the engines air filter!! It was the 2nd time I got the car serviced by the same dealer. Even after the 1st service the car cleaning was not thorough. I had demanded for a spotless cleaning as I'm paying for the service. But even the 2nd service disappointed me.
Since I had given the dealer a second service request in succession, I requested Mr. Anil Kumar, who was the service advisor, for some discount. Anil mentioned that they didn't have any such offers running. I requested for atleast a free wash after 3 months. He denied again and requested me to speak to Mr. Prithvin (service manager). Mr. Prithvin too denied any offer. I showed him all the dirty cleaning which was done on the car whereas I pay in full for a spotless cleaning. Prithvin mentioned spotless is NOT possible as they use hard water (borewell) to clean and those stains are bound to stay behind. His tone didn't sound nice to me. I adviced him to use a hard water cleaning agent to clean them up and he says he is not allowed. At this response I was furious as he didn't have any solution to the problems/ requests for the full payment which I was about to make. Most likely I won't return to this service station as they don't understand what is customer satisfaction.
The car is working fine with around 18 kmpl on long drives. City ride mileage is pathetically around 10 kmpl. I know that it is too large a variation. Well that's what it is.
