2014 review

Happy new year 2014 friends. Again time to edit few things which would help all of you to take a decision in buying this car.

1) After completion of more than 2 years the car keeps on impressing me with its average. Still getting 16 with ac in city.

2) I have taken this car to long drives and its just that one has to be careful with overtaking.

3) the only thing I am not liking about the car is that still HYUNDAI has not come up with the rear tray fitting provision, which is too bad.

4) I have been reading some very bad reviews about the car, but disappointed to see that most of them have come out of anger. One thing that should be understood is that u cant overtake like a speed of Honda city or even Maruti swift in Hyundai eon with 800 cc engine. This is city car with mileage and budget in mind. And if its driven sensibly you can take to long drives too, with no problem at all.

2013 review

Happy New Year 2013 People. As I mentioned in my earlier review here's my edit of this review after my 2nd service.

1) The vehicle got smoother and as I expected it gave me a mileage of 21 kms on highway with 70% AC on.

2) Second best thing of this car is that I took it to all hilly regions around mumbai with 4 person car load. Lonavala, Bhandardara, Saputara(gujarat) and I had no problems.

3) There is not a single rupee additional cost I incurred on this vehicle. Depends a lot on how u maintain ur vehicle too.

2012 review

I bought Hyundai Eon Magna in the month of Nov 2011 and till now(Mar 17 2012) have clocked almost 3000 kms. So heres my initial review about the car.

Engine:

814cc(3 cyclinder) Petrol engine in all variants available for Eon.

Features: AC, EPS. Power Windows

Pros

1) Exceptional looks with Hyundai fluid design, looks very charming and youthful.

2) Mileage is exceptional it being 814 cc, gave me mileage of 16 kms in city(full ac on) and 20 kms in highway(full ac again).  I am yet to take it for my second service where there will be oil change etc and I expect it to open up more.

3) With two color tone(beige and gray) the interiors looks classy and best in class among its competitors.

4) The boot space is amazing for the front sitters and a person with a ht of 6 can easily fit in. I am 5'11 and the roof is almost 14-16 inches above me when I am in a driving seat.

5) Electronic powers steering is very smooth and feature of tilt steering provided(feature starts from Magna version) helps in giving smooth handling.

5) Easy to maneuver in traffic and good for city rides.

6) Some features like gear shift indicator etc are fine provided if you are learning the car.

Cons

1) The Air conditioning doesn't look powerful and you have to keep it at full(fan speed and compressor both)  to make sure that the passenger in rear seat too get some of it. I have experienced this even during recent winter season.

2) Gear shifting is smooth but vibrates a lot at any speed and at any gear.

3) Its a four sitter car and fifth person can fit in at the inconvenience of the rest two of them at the rear.

4) Hyundai has completely avoided to give provision for rear parcel tray in this model. And if you need good speakers at the back you need parcel tray.  Sad part being as its a new car in the market the car accessory shops were unable to put a foldeble parcel tray and I had go to for fixed parcel tray which means you cannot fully optimize your luggage space(which is very good in this car)

5) If you want an audio system then you have to go with Magna plus which will cost you 10k more but the audio system(double din) with two front speakers doesnt look good for the cost. I got JBC speaker(2 rear original)  + 2 front(sony fake just for surround impact) and a Sony explode(single din) at a cost of Rs 7450. amazing sound.

My conclusion:

Though Hyundai seems to compete against Alto the price is on a higher side by appx 10-12%. If you ride a lot in city this is the best car in its class(looks n mileage). If you love to hit the highways with the speed then its not for you my friend .
