Why to buy and Not to buy a EON. Review on Hyundai Eon Era +

Before I start the review I own a i20, an Ecosport and a Suuki swift and earlier owned a 800. I wanted to buy a small utility car for commuting which is fun to drive for at least 4 people so keeping this in mind I wrote the review.

I had a test drive in the car, did the same for an Alto 800, Astar and an i10. Alto 800 - I don know why I would buy this car, doesn't look good no matter what Maruti lovers say I too own a Maruti car but this looks as if its a car with broken teeth when you look at the grill, when you go inside every thing is bluish grey, seats looks way old and I seriously believe Maruti haven changed their designer as the design remains the same.

The engine is smooth gear shift is easy but you feel your in the old 800 not in new alto 800 its the same. I couldn't buy it I just couldn't. It feels ur paying too much for the old car which is just two decades old and has been repainted. I don know about the service as service from ford, Hyundai and Maruti have been the same for me ford being a bit costlier.

Astar - the first shock was when I came to know this car is the 2012 alto in countries outside India and just because they have alto 800 here they are selling this car at a premium price. Why should I pay more for a car which should be priced at that of an alto, I liked the looks even when people said it has frog eye like head lights, well its fast and low but found it over priced and the bad news is maruti is phasing it out because of low sales numbers

i10 -  good car, superb engine loved the interior but hated the looks it seems some one has hammered an i20's bonnet to make an i10 I didnt like it and any ways grand i10 is replacing it so didnt wanna buy it.Commom its old now.

EON - Cute little car, I admit it. nice looks and contours, front seat are well designed and interiors are no doubt best in the class. Well engine I didnt want power I wanted to commute not rush through roads so people who want to rush and want to buy below 4 lakhs pls don write ur indecent reviews here, a clear advice decide what is ur preference and then decide what you want to buy. If you really need so called power get some more cash and buy a polo, Figo or Swift pls don tell alto 800 is faster because it will only help you reach 30 sec earlier than EOn which bothers any one the least. AC is good can chill your bones is few min.

Has every thing that a commuting car needs. Powers steering, good interior, good looks decent mileage( 14 - 16kmpl) in city, smaller turning radius, music system, good gear shift and that gear handle vibrations has been resolved FYI, wider and bigger wheels what else do you need man. Alto 800 doesn't even come close any one who has driven a EON will no way like an Alto 800, Astar is good but you gotta pay 1lakh more if you are that dumb to pay more for a phased out car sold at a higher price go ahead not my money any ways.

Its a car can be bought and enjoyed in a city, its not meant for highways or overtaking at high speeds, its as simple as that. And for people who say front windshield cracked gear comes to neutral. C'mon I mean its natural a vehicle behaves the way you drive, If you don drive it smoothly it will punish you the way it wants, better be sober it will drive easily. Remember you are buying a city car not a highway racer. So if it matches you need below EON is the best buy till date or else you can wait for Datsun Go.

And one more thing Hyundai for no reason is threat for Maruti, currently its the only company which has eaten away Maruti's market share. Maruti needs some real good designers.
