The Hyundai Accent has the following models

1) Accent GLS

2) Accent GLE

3) Accent GTX

4) Accent GVS

5) Accent DLS

6) Accent CRDi

7) Accent Viva

Out of the above models only Accent GTX and Accent Viva is in production. Now I have purchased an Accent GLS model year 2001. I purchased the car in June 2003 for about Rs 370,000 which included transfer fees, car deck and latest servicing of every parts done. The Car in the year 2001 would have cost around Rs 6,00,000 which would have included insurance, registration, car deck and tinted glasses. The car which I have is by far the largest accent which was produced by the company. I do not have the exact specifications at this moment but I can assure you that the Hyundai GLS is the largest model of accent.

Average

I had the notion that all large segment cars have a very high maintenance cost and is not economically feasible. This can be true. If you do not maintain the vehicle properly it is bound to have maintenance and will be economically unfeasible. A large segment car is not meant for rough and tough use like a Maruti Van. Since it?s a large segment car, one needs to make sure its driven on special occasions like going for a family outing/picnic or a wedding. Again this is a matter of opinion. The Average for this car that I have got is 10 KM/L with the Air Condition On in City. I haven?t had the moment where I could take the car out on the Expressway or a Highway where I could really get the best average but I can safely say that it would give an average of 12 KM/L with AC on highways and this would be the same in city roads but without AC.

The Interiors are very well done and 5 people can comfortably sit in the car. The AC is very powerful and many people who have sat in the car with me have begged me to switch off the AC after 10 minutes. The trunk space is quite large for a large segment car. The colour of my car is white so I know it will be easy to maintain if there are scratches or if the paint starts to come out. This is very difficult and costly for people who have cars with metallic colours. This is the reason why one must need to maintain the car. You have to avoid all kinds of overtaking and rash driving if you want the car to last longer. This car has an electronic steering wheel which makes the drive even more comfortable. Believe me, after driving this car or even after sitting in this car, you will not feel like driving or sitting in any of the small segment cars.

This has been my dream car for over 3 years and life has been very kind to me by giving me the opportunity to own this car. (Technically this car is registered under my mother?s name but what the heck, it is still MY baby).

Please note that the rates of the car that I have provided are New Bombay registration rates. Octroi charges will be applicable for Bombay Registration. I believe the octroi charges are 8% but don?t quote me.
