HYPERCITY: A big disappointment with poor mgmt

Hi Guys,


I am an enthusiast, like to visit different places and have traveled around the world.


On the 30th of December, 2012 I had been to HYPERCITY at Kundanhalli Gate, Bangalore.


The store had a good range of fruits and vegetables. But sports or any other section is pilled up with substandard Chinese products.


However the Security guys( including the one standing at the gate) gives you a suspicious look and are  very rude. Their so called “Manager” is also  very rude and have got no sense of talking to the customers.


The saddest part is their non-veg section which stinks like hell and makes your over all shopping experience worse. Seeing this I felt like giving them a feedback. I went to the "Customer Care" counter which was big that made me feel that they really care what their customer have got to say but no sooner than I approached the guy standing at the counter my feel good turned into a big disappointment. There was only one guy(Mr. Sanjay Kumar at around 9:15 PM) at a big counter talking to someone on phone, and took 10 minutes to attend me. When I asked for the feedback register he gave a weird look and called his so called manager who was even worse. After 5 minutes of heated argument, he agreed to give me the feedback register but I found needless to comment about the stinky non veg section as the book was already full of the same comments dating as long back as January 2012.


While I was reading the feedback register they got busy with another customer who brought a rotten pomegranate and he looked really frustrated as he mentioned that he had to come back to them all the way from 12 Kms to complain about the same.


Also, there was a couple struggling for apparels exchange but the manager seemed to dickhead and was chanting some policy which is non sense.


The sales guys does not seem to be welcoming and they seem to be more interested in flirting/chatting with their female colleagues. And in case you approach them they seem to be disturbed and get offended.


None of their employees want to take any responsibility and the guys at billing counter will ask you to go to another counter even though they have got nothing to do and they do not want you to disturb them in whatever non sense they are doing.


Billing is also improper and found many customers having an argument with billing guys.


Their exchange policy is stupid, impracticable and customer unfriendly of which they are already aware of.


*My Suggestions to HYPERCITY are follows( all though I am not a retail analyst),




  1. Copying retail giants like Wallmart, Carrefour is easy but sticking to the basics like listening to the customers and trusting them is more important and that really helps you building genuine customer pool.




  2. Kindly review your policies and do consider customer satisfaction.




  3. Your HR department is does not seem to be doing good, do look into that issue.




  4. Do something for Stinky  non veg section.




  5. Do not make guy who are Cocky, arrogant and customer unfriendly as Store Managers as those are the real culprits who play as catalyst in spoiling HYPERCITY as a name or brand.(Take this point as priority).*






*Suggestions for visitors, retails enthusiasts, explorers, wanderers:-




  1. Please AVOID visiting this place. Its not the right place for you unless you do not have self respect or not looking for customer satisfaction.




  2. Never ever think of buying any electronic item from this place else half of your life you would be running behind them for replacement/exchange/refund etc.(but in vain).




  3. Please do check the cosmetics bottles as I found the female sales representatives applying them on their own secretly.




  4. There are really good places to hang out than this which gives you much more better shopping experience  like PHOENIX MALL(great ambiance, give importance to over all shopping experience, very good brands), FORUM VALUE MALL(great deals and offers, really wonderful people who do not talk non sense) etc.*
