The announcement made by the Congress ruled government last week to form the Telangana State has come out as a big surprise and has spread chaos all over. A leading politician from the Hyderabad city in Andhra Pradesh went on a hunger strike in order to protest against this decision of the government.

The daily violent protest since the announcement has forced the government to step back and hold their decision for the moment in order to control the disseminated tension.

To continue the opposition, about 138 lawmakers out of which I have heard that 80 are from the congress party itself have forwarded their resignations which have yet not been accepted as the party intends to resolve the current crisis at the earliest possible. After the police arrest of L. Rajagopal, the congress MP from Vijaywada who wanted to launch an indefinite hunger strike, the police in Vijaywada and the other towns on Andhra are on a high alert.

The renowned television star Chiranjeevi  who is also the head of Praja Rajyam party, met the Andhra Pradesh chief minister, K. Rosaiah requesting him to take quick adequate steps inorder to maintain law and order in the state. I totally agree when the Railway minister, Mamta Banerjee said that the Congress party should have set a cabinet to discuss over their critical decision of formation of this new state before they could publicly announce and disrupt the peace.

This is a very smart political move by Congress and I feel that Congress should give up their idea of doing so as they are trying to fidget with a sensitive issue. We are staying in a country wherein people fight for almost everything be it caste, religion, language, region etc. I am originally from Mumbai and as a part of my job have to travel to different cities. I have been to Pune, Hyderabad and now for quite some time I have been staying in Bangalore.

Although I am from Mumbai, I would still disapprove of staying here where the strong domination of MNS activists have made the survival so difficult. I have spoken with some of my Maharashtrian friends who do not find themselves quite safe and comfortable under this environment. So if the Maharashtians are finding the survival so difficult, can you imagine what would be the state of people like us? Having travelled to most of the cities and after residing in Bangalore for say about 2 yrs now, I feel that Bangalore is the most cosmopolitan of all the cities and it would be just ideal to settle down here.
