Hungama.com was the first website I registered for. That perhaps is the reason for me having a soft corner for this site. However, I am trying to write an unbiased review on this site out of my personal experience.
Hungama is one hell of a fun site with very good graphics and interesting sections like promos, bollywood trivia, trivia, bacardi bat club, coca cola enjoy zone, gaming club, sweepstakes etc.
This site has a vast plethora of games and contests. I am a trivia freak and hence thoroughly enjoy their trivia sections. Participation in the contests and trivia covering various sections like bollywood, general, sports, hollywood, cartoons, music, advertising, history, business and opinion polls fetches the participants 100 points per participation, irrespective of whether a participant wins a prize or not. These cyberpoints can be accumulated and exchanged for the gifts of one's choice. Though the basket of redemption categories is very vast, the options available under each category is an apology.
I normally redeem my cyberpoints for VCD's. To my disappointment, this section used to be empty most of the time. So, I wrote to hungama informing them of my desire to redeem my cyberpoints for VCD's. To their credit, they were very prompt in replying and offering several titles in this section. This gesture on their part won me over, especially as most of the sites do not even have the basic courtesy of replying. My suggestion to other fellow netizens is to not be disheartened if their preferred gifts are not there in the redemption centre and to write to hungama and give them a fair chance to respond.
I have won several prizes on this site in promos and trivias, not to mention 9 VCD titles which I have redeemed my cyberpoints for. The heartening fact is that on redemption, their delivery is very quick and does not take more than 4-5 days.
The redemption rates work out to roughly Re.1 for every 200 points. Prima facie this seems to be highly unfavourable vis-a-vis say contests2win where exchange is roughly at Rs.1.50 per 100 points, but the average daily scoring opportunities are very high at hungama compared to other sites in the same segment.
The two major negatives about this site are a) it is very sluggish most of the time and of late is frequently down for maintenance b) the sweepstakes are much talked about, but I am yet to come across a person who has won something on the sweepstakes.
All in all, it is a good site and forms a part of my daily surfing regimen.
