Ever wonder why Deepawali is celebrated with that vigor and considered to be the largest festival of our nation? What all happened on that day? What all is good about that? Ram(if I consider him human) was a normal king, he went to the jungle due to an order, killed the villain and came back, and just “came back” to his home and that becomes the largest festival of our nation. It all happened because “coming home” and “coming back to the family” has always been the most important part of our culture and family has always been the most important part of our living. I always loved the way family is portrayed in Barjatya’s movies(except Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon).
This is what rightly portrayed in the movie, the values, the ethics the culture is what attracts you to it While talking about the movIe still remember watching it so many times in theater and every time there was same quantum of clapping and appreciation. This all wan not for the acting or songs or locations or stars, all of these were for the “Theme”. A theme called “family” which is a forte of Sooraj Barjatya. People could feel themselves with the characters and could cry and laugh with them.
The movie revolved around a family which was happy go lucky and the happiness enhanced with the eldest brother getting married, the new Bhabhi comes in the family and the Munna coming to family brings smiles to every face. Suddenly a sad day comes when the Bhabhi meets and accidents and the happiness vanishes but the family stands united. Options are considered for elder brother getting married to Bhabhi’s younger sister who is also love of life or younger brother. The options is executed with small amount of confusion but at the final day things are disclosed to everyone by the grace of god. The younger brother gets married to the Bhabhi’s younger sister and the family stands united forever.
The actors played their role so fantastic that they begged almost all film awards of that year. I am always impressed with Mohnish bahal, probably it’s the magic of Sooraj Brjatya which helps him getting this height of acting.
Songs are still a pleasure to listen and being situations add to the quality of movie. The music and songs have always become Cult for the industry and our routine life. The movie proved that you always don’t need sultry actresses and actions heroes to prove for a great movie. What all you need is a concept and the script must ardently follow it.
