Khandaan ki dushmani tadka maarke !. Review on Hulchul

This was a great ocassion for Gupta family living in some village in Haryana. Their son who just returned from USA had built a machine that could read whats going on in someone's mind.

This was also a great moment for me because Guptaji ka beta was going to test the man ka meter on me !

This was also a great moment for Mouthshut because I chose to let that machine run when I'm writing a review..... !

After much fanfare I chose the title for the movie previews as ''Khandaan ki dushmani tadka maarke'' !

Mr. Scientist Gupta was shaky after he sensed what I'm going to write... And now without that sensing machine installed at my end I sensed some sweat appearing on his foreheard ! But Gupta jee ki maa was very happy to hear the word tadka as she foreseen some interesting receipe coming her way ! Guptajee was indifferent as usual ! We started...The machine and my keyboard !

Tadka : This is the key ingredient in most of the Indian dishes. Ata punjbi gharvich tadke bager khana banta hi nahi ! and even the anna down south love the tadka in his sambar ! I like the tadka with dahi raita too ! So the point is that tadka makes underlying dish tasty and has ability to change the taste of the item completely. Ladies and gentlemen , Agree with me ?

Hulchul - Let me present to you the old tequila with some dash of new lemon

Well, I could have called it the movie as Old wine in a new bottle... But wine is not interesting now-a-days except the port wine on the B'day parties of kids ! India sincerely do not have a wine culture... So the tequila is used instead of wine... and lemon instead of bottle... Do we store tequila ?

Why hulchul is like Old Wine in New Bottle ?

Hulchul, the latest offering from the Director of superhit movies like Virasat, Hera-Pheri and Hungama i.e. Priyadarshan !

This movie boasts superstars of aaj-kal ka zamana in different roles.

Meanwhile, I can see Guptajee murmuring something ''Abe aage bhi to badhega, heeeein?... I know Guptajee's miseries, But this is my style...

The old wine : This movie has a typical ghisi-piti storyline that boasts of two villages , their thakurs and their jani-dushmani. Needless to mention ,saare fasad ki jad is the broken shaadi sometime back, the bitter blood-shedding after that unfortunate incident. And the result is the bitter war between the two familes that refuses to vanish unless the young generation is bitten by the love bug or is struck by naked cupid.

I seen only two movies based on this type (Actually, I was fortunate to see only two of the movies and Hulchul is third) . One was Saudagar and second was Sanam Bewafa. I enjoyed Saudagar in the Video Bus when the night sleep was refusing to engulf me and I bared Sanam Bewafa on a very unfortunate day.. Anyway... Hulchul after all this ghisi-piti story is a pleasant experience... I mean it is bottled very well !

Tadka No 1 (Or Batli No. 1) : Comedy : Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal and Kareena Kapoor( To some extent) have added life to this movie by their superb trademark comedy. Arshad Warsi has delievered its typical tapori, happy-go-lucky performance once again and Paresh Rawal has also done it again in this movie too.. But Arshad rules finally ! Comedy was teh biggest relief for the ghisa-pita storyline !

Tadka No 2 (Or Batli No. 2) : Masala : Kareena's bare-dare song to woo Akshaye, the new locations for songs were nicely added to the movie. The item song is a sheer waste.

Tadka No 3 (Or Batli No. 3) : Jaggu Dada, Amrish Puri:These are the old wines that get tastier with every movie... Jackie Shroff and AMrish Puri have acted wonderfully in the movie and have added one more tadka.

Tadka No 4 (Or Batli No. 4) : Performance by actors.All the people including Akshaye Khanna, Kareena, Sunil Shetty, Faraha, Arbaaz Khan have done justice to the work.

Jale hue tadke aur futi hui bottle: The item song picturised on the dhaaba is futa hua bottle. The music is also jala hua tadka. A time to pop out for pop-corns or hot-corns !

Mr. Scientist Gupta could understood the review... But Maan jee cursed me a lot over refusing to let any receipe come in the review...Tau jee was still indifferent !!

Tequila funda:Hulchul is like Tequila.. Bas ek baar maar lo aur high par ! Next time... try something else... !!!
