While I shifted to the new house and wanted to buy lot of furniture, I checked out the reviews for all the items in mouthshut .com. It was really useful. Actually I had seen many bad reviews on housefull, also some good ones. Anyway we went to many shops around bangalore and found this cheaper of the lot. Actually in Infantry Road, Shivaji Nagar also there are some cheaper ones. I bought some from there also, but have to bargain real hard there, with shop guys and delivery guys.
Now back to housefull. We saw some items were above our budget, then reached the bedroom section, where they were giving a low-rise double cot with storage + 3 door cupboard + side table + dressing table with drawer and its stool for 18k. It was quite a steal. Though I agree the quality is not that great, but color and design were pretty good. At other places we could hardly get a cupboard for this rate.
Then we also had a look at a nice designer kind of sofa set, its neither too big nor too small and had leather kinda finish. this was 17k for the set.
Now the delivery.They had promised that it will take 10-12 days. That was okay for us since, we were moving in by July 12th only and this was only July 3rd. So they gave me a date of 14th. I had read in the review that you have to be a bit stern on these people or they will delay and all. That time, another party came with a complaint of no delivery on time.So I warned them that I don't want this to happen to us, and if it gets delayed 1 more day, then they can cancel the order and give me a refund. They promised me there wont be any change.
On 12th I got a call, saying they dont deliver on Wednesday for some reason so it might get delayed by 1 day. I had to be a bit harsh and said that this was not the deal. either you get it on 14th or cancel the order. So they delivered it one day earlier on 13th and the fixing guys came the next day and within 2 hours they fixed the whole thing, I was impressed. They did a good job. So by 14th I had everything ready. Well, quality I dont know yet. its only 2 months now and it still looks fresh. 'Touch wood'.
Over all the service was not as bad as expected. You just have to state everything clear at the time of purchase and be a bit stern, as if you mean what you say.
