Hotstar has always been a back up at my place when we miss the daily soap. My mom is hooked up to the television(read Star Plus) from 5 PM to 9:30 PM. She doesn’t change the channel or lets us change the channel. She watches every show in that slot. There are days when we have to go out and it is unavoidable and we do miss the daily soap.
When Hotstar was launched, we didn’t really use it, but later my brother came to the rescue of my mother and introduced us to Hotstar. It has every show from Star Networks. So my mom is more than happy to now miss her shows as she knows she can watch it next day.
The quality of Hotstar is very nice, plus you can change the streaming quality. It has different categories for TV serials, Talk shows, Regional shows, Movies etc.
They also have sports events been shown on the App, which is quite amazing for the entire sports fanatic out there.
There are some TV serials and movies that are premium and trust me these are the real good stuff. The basic shows and movies are free to use and of good quality.
The speed of the app completely depends on your Wi-Fi and Data connection. This can be played on laptop through the website and on the phone through the app. It cannot be connected to the TV through Screen Mirroring, which is a little disappointing.
All in all, I like the app but more features and more variety in series and movies will be appreciated.
