I hate to admit it, but my husband and I are internet junkies. We first started out with AOL, but ran into too many problems with the 6.0 version. For example, our computer would freeze whenever we would try to go onto the web. So, then we decided to try K-Mart's own Blue Light Internet Service. The first month was terrific! Then, all of a sudden, we weren't able to connect to the internet at all. We were told that we had an incorrect screen name and/or an incorrect password. It was rather annoying.
Finally, we decided to go with MSN. After all, my husband had a Hotmail account that he really liked and had NO problems with, and MSN was about $3 less than AOL. We signed up immediately.
Hotmail is a web-based email system that offers accounts for free to users anywhere in the world. I used to have a Hotmail account, but I wound up using AOL more. My best friend loves Hotmail and has switched everything to that account. You can also have a buddy list, called the MSNMessenger. This allows you to chat with people that also have a Hotmail account.
A lot of people believe that you can just dial up to get Hotmail from their own computer and use it as a server. THEY ARE WRONG!!! In order to dial directly in to Hotmail, you need to subscribe to the MSN service, which is $19.95 a month. You get 9 screennames and unlimited hours. Plus, the browser is terrific.
MSN is a terrific dialup program, especially if you're a Hotmail user. However, if you're looking for something for free to access your Hotmail account, go with Blue Light... but don't say I didn't warn you about the problems you will have.
