Hotmail from Microsoft was replaced by Microsoft Outlook with some major improvements in terms of user interface, domain name and also add speed enhancements which make Hotmail worth e-mail for signing up.
I signup Hotmail six months ago last year for experience the e-mail service of Microsoft. Till date I had never any issues with Microsoft Hotmail neither I found any security lag or loophole. I use my Hotmail e-mail for multi level marketing e-mail subscriptions.
In terms of Pro vs Con, the pros are already earlier mentioned now talking about cons. The first and last con is storage space in compare to other e-mail providers Hotmail is still outdated as it does not give so much storage space for e-mails. Another Positive feature of the Hotmail is its thread e-mail view.
I personally feel Microsoft Hotmail is excellent for personal use only.
