Really its one of the best experience I had. Though I have visited OOTY around 30 times this visit is very different one because of this resort. Really the place where you stay during the vaccation will make all the difference. For me staying in a hotel in the city wont be a nice one but staying in a resort which is away from the city and has good surrounding is my choice always. Sherlock matches and live upto my expectation. Sherlock situated away from the city around 2km from the city and it's of colonial bungalow type.
After seeing the overall view of the resort time for the first time , I had a hope that this is going to be a different stay & one of the best one. Resort lies in the mountain and before reaching the resort in the way itself it was all of natural scenic view. Our check-in was bit delayed bcoz we reached the resort around 10am itself and then we had a nice breakfast. It has a such a lovely greenish lawn. Lawn is the best part of the resort.We had excellent two evenings in the resort bcoz of this lawn. Food was really good & service is still better. All are with smiling face & helping attitude.Overall its really an excellent stay and I recommend this resort strongly to all. Thanks to holidayIq, bcoz of review in the site only I selected this resort.
Pros:
LAWN:
You can feel why Im always saying about this lawn in this review. If you are going to stay I this resort then plz return to this lawn by 6pm in the evening. Having cup of coffee and talking with your loved ones & friends in the misty & breezy lawn will give world of joy. In the evening almost for 4 hours we were talking & walking in the excellent LAWN.
SERVICE:
Even in 5 star hotels you cant see people serving this professionally. They are always with smiling face and they look for opportunities to help the guest. From they way they served its clearly understood about the passion they have in their profession. Once we asked for coffee and they served but the mild was not that good when we said that they removed that coffee from the bill.
FOOD:
Really the food is tasty and they serve both veg & non veg food & mainly with good taste. They serve very healthy breakfast and that too its complimentary. In some hotels if they server complimentary breakfast then it wont have much varieties and taste but here thats not the case.
MUSIC:
In the evening time they have couple of persons who will play mouth organs & sing some classical English songs. Really that's a different experience. The Music played by them add more charm to the chill evening
FIREPLACE IN THE ROOM:
In the night they give wood and you can enjoy the heat from the fire inside the room itself. It's hard to see this facility inside the room in most of other resorts.
Cons:
TRANSPORTATION:
If you don have your own vehicle then its bit tough to goto city & come back. Even dont take auto bcoz the resort is in the mountain so auto should be avoided.Its better to take taxi.
NO SEA FOOD:
In the non veg they provide only chicken.Mutton & Fish were missing
COFFEE NOT GOOD:
In a hill station like OOTY, all like to have COFFEE very much. On both the days COFFEE provided by the resort doesn't taste good
