The worse nightmare of any tourist will be the hotel booked was cancelled due to mismanagement of the hotel staff. I was about to experience the same when me and my wife planned the trip for Lansdowne.


Ok here is the story we booked our room in this hotel almost a month back and also had a confirmation on whatsapp from the owner directly. We also made an advance payment and our rooms were booked. In an obvious case once the room is book it can’t be rebooked by someone else, but I think this is what happened in our case. The day before the journey I called the hotel owner just to make him aware that what time we will reach our destination and his answer was he doesn’t remember our booking-GREAT. After many reminders about the wire transfer finally his hard drive started working and he assured our booking in the semi deluxe room.


We reached Lansdowne on the festival of Holi because of the long weekend and the owner had promised us that he will arrange a help to pick our luggage as there is no parking in front of the hotel. We were very surprised to see that the hotel was inside a small “Gali” and the hotel was again inside a very narrow lane. We made many calls to the owner to send someone but he was very rude and told us that his staffs are busy playing holi and can’t help. We went back to the main market area and waited there for almost an hour so that the festival celebration can ease down.


We have to carry our own luggage and walk towards the hotel. When we reached there was another couple waiting for a room and the manager is out somewhere playing holi. We were hungry and tired but the hotel staffs have no curtsy, the manager is so unprofessional that he left his cell phone. Finally the manager arrives with all kind of colour on his body and he was little drunk. Again our name was not in the chart, but the manager arranged a new room and this was deluxe room which was very ugly. If this is there deluxe room I can imagine the condition of semi deluxe room.


The last big surprise was there was no food in the hotel because they have no kitchen. We latterly have to starve for nearly 3 more hours to wait for the restaurant to open.


The hotel was very badly maintained and the owner was rude and confused. The owner hide many things from us, I request everyone that not to book this hotel ever.
