Quite surprising that there are 0 reviews here regarding this hotel, here! Well, despite this, we chose to book this hotel for our 2 nights stay at Kolhapur during our recent visit to the town. Without wasting much time on the introduction, let me come straight to the review.

Location: This is situated bang in the city, next to the main road at Shahupuri at Dabholkar corner on the Station road. All of these are well-known milestones and hence everybody knows, in case you need to ask for direction. If you are coming from NH-4(Pune-Bangalore highway), enter the city and come right up-to Tara-Raani Chowk and take left, head straight about 500mtrs, and you will notice a HP petrol pump to your right, the hotel is right next to it. However, you will have to drive up to take an U turn, and come back to the hotel.

The Hotel: Nothing good or bad about it, it's a tall 5 floored building, not very attractive but not very shabby too. It has an underground parking plus place for 2/3 vehicles in the lobby area.

When we arrived at 8:30 pm with prior booking, there was hardly anybody at the reception, so there was not much welcome etc. I showed the booking receipt and the room-boy took us straight to the rooms on the 4th floor. They were very easy with the check-in process and did not bother much about payments etc, asked us to make complete payments during check-out(we made 30% booking with online).

A pleasant personality at the reception would have been good.

The Booking: Booking was easy through Stayzilla. I checked the hotel rates on various sites and everywhere it was different. Even the hotel website quoted prices higher than what I booked at Stayzilla. We paid around 7k for 2 Non-AC deluxe rooms for 2 nights. That I think was a fair deal. Stayzilla said, someone from Hotel would confirm the booking in about 20mins - however since that did not happen, I called the hotel and they said the booking is confirmed.

The Rooms: Personally, I was satisfied with the room - the size, quality of lighting, bed, bathrooms, TV, everything. AC was not required as the rooms had two huge windows and there was pleasant breeze throughout. Unlike our experience with other hotels in this budget, everything was in working condition, geyser, TV, remote, taps etc. There were complimentary shampoo sachet, soap, water bottle.

However the down-side was that, they provided just one towel and did not change sheets or cleaned the room during our second night stay.

The Restaurant: There is a restaurant on the ground floor. We did not try the food for lunch/dinner, however we went there for breakfast, which was complimentary. We were not happy with the breakfast served nor the service. Options available during our 2 nights stay were:

First day: Idli-Sambar, Sabudana Khichdi, bread-Omelette, Bread-Butter-Jam, Tea & Coffee Second day: Poha, Misal-Pav, bread-Omlette, Bread-Butter-Jam, Tea & Coffee

There were lot of issues: quantity was less, every time something gets over, we had to wait for a long time for it to be re-filled. No fruit juice or fruit option. We had to even wait for cutlery and were told that it is being washed, each Omelette took 15-20 mins to arrive.

Others: Wi-Fi was available and free, however it was only available to be used in the lobby near your room - it was strange that they expected guests to stroll in the lobby to use it.

Overall it was not a bad stay and We were not fussy with any shortcomings and managed with whatever we got, rest we ignored as our main goal was to enjoy the trip in the town.
