I went to a place called Chiplun on some official assignment for two weeks. It is situated mid way between Mumbai Goa Highway. As my tour was quite long and summer vacation of my son was on, I decided to move with family to Chiplun.
On our return journey we decided to return via Goa and to spend 2/3 days there. But I was a bit short on money as cost travel and lodging of my family was from my account. I searched for some budget hotel in net and I came across Hotel Ginger , Goa of TATA group. I contacted them and enquired about tariff and availability of rooms. I had been told that they had only one type of room which cost generally 2500 per day with taxes. During that period some discount was on and they offered me the room at 2000 per day. I was a bit apprehensive about the quality of the room but I had no choice and I booked it.for 3 days by paying in advance.
We reached Goa by road by a hired Travera and driver took us to Hotel Ginger, Goa. It situated very near to bus terminus and within walkable diatance from heart of the city and the point from where cruise starts. To my utter surprise , I found that it was a reasonably good hotel with AC rooms , lift in operation neat and clean. There was no attendants as self service syatem was there. You have to trolly your own luggage to the room . It was not at all a problem as trolly and lift was there.Room was good neat and clean with LCD TV and reasonable furniture. Tea/coffee making arrangement was available in room. There were facility for ironing also. Drinking water arragement was in each floor. A good cheap retaurent was also there. As a whole it was a pleasant experience and we had good return of our money. For three days stay at Goa during peak season , we paid only around Rs.7000. It worths a chance.
