Let me tell you this, San Diego city in California, USA is one of the finest places I have ever visited. It has great weather, nice beaches and is very calm. I lived there for couple of months for a project assignment and never wished to come back to India. People in this beach city are very friendly and supportive. There are great places to visit, like Sea World, San Diego Zoo, which is one of the best zoos in the world, Old Town etc. San Diego is close to Disneyland and Hollywood, Los Angeles.
I stayed in Hotel Budet Inn. May be because my stay arrangements were done by someone else. I would say it was okay because I did not have much money to spend on a star hotel and it was closer to the place where I worked. I could walk to my work place.:)
However, I did not really like it very much. It is actually a motel where people come & stay for a day or two. Unfornately I had to stay longer than that. Budget Inn is an okay hotel if you stay for a day or two. If you wish to stay for a long time, say 15 days, better not. This is a cheap hotel and cannot provide you better services. It is surrounded by hotels like Holiday Inn Select and Best Western Inn, which are much better than this if you have couple of extra bucks to spend.
Good Points: Cleaning/ house keeping staff is good and works hard. Most of the staff in here is Mexican and may not understand English very well. I managed with broken Spanish.
Bad points: You begin your day with breakfast, that you never like to eat. They offer you orange juice, which looks like some kinda chemical, fruits(which look like the cheapest in town and normally not fresh), Donuts, cornflakes & milk.
People at Front desk don't like hearing complaints about anything. Except 1 or 2, rest are as non-concerned as they can be. I still remember the girl Ethena who was very helpful, and really worked hard to keep guests happy. She was an asset to them. Others; not so great. I saw the old man at front desk talking rudely to guests.
Rooms are not well lit. They may provide you additional lamps if they wish.
The swimming pool is dirty. And it remains dirty even if you complain. So, there is no use of it being there.
Room charges are somewhere around$75.00 a night, which sound a little on the higher side. If you visit Holiday Inn nearby and negotiate, you may get a suite and$125.00.
In all, if you just want to spend a night, it is okay. Longer than that, strict no no!
