If you are at a stopover at HongKong airport on your way from Australia to India like I did, then it is definitely worth spending the time here - be it 12 hours or 24 hours.

My experiences were totally enjoyable - right from something called the walking escalator or shortly known as the ’’Walkalator’’ (a straight escalator) to everything else. My first enjoyable experience there was meeting this robot that advertized a Swiss chocolate. When I noticed that the robot is speaking to people in Japanese, Chinese and French, I tried speaking in German and it replied back in German. I was happy and at the same time, surprised.

When I asked the robot to shake hands with me, it did and it followed every single command of mine and would notify me if it could not execute one.

The second most enjoyable experience there was watching the buildings that looked more like some out of space-age buildings described in a sci-fi novel or movie. I had never seen such beautiful buildings before.

After that, I reveled in some shopping at the McDonald’s. The only problem was that there are not enough options for food, if you are a vegetarian like me. You would have to survive on mini Samosas, McDonald’s fast food or candies available there. The next thrill was going in a little train that took us from one airport building to another. The train zipped off so speedily that I really enjoyed the feeling.

The next thrill was looking at the display in the Disney Store inside the airport. It was really fun seeing everything. I ended up buying a tiny china clay tea set for my baby niece.

The free internet service at the airport was equally good and I used it by turns. It was really thrilling and I simply enjoyed being there. It is not only a beautiful airport, but also has total convenience and entertainment options. I would definitely like a re-visit to this airport.
