This is my first go at writing a review. I was so inspired to write a review after watching this stupid brainless movie. I am surprised how producers can back a movie like this.
Reema Kagti seems to have no clue as to what kind of movie she wanted to make. I am confused as to which movie was worse. Honeymoon Travels or Salaam e Ishq. The only saving grace was the presence of Kay Kay Menon. He is an amazing actor. I will just give u a brief info about the different couples
1) Kay Kay Menon and Raima Sen - This couple shared some amazing chemistry. Kay Kay is brilliant as usual. Raima Sen shows sparks of talent. The high point of the movie is the Kay Kay dance. They make a very cute couple and the Bengali dialogues adds to the fun.
2) Abhay Deol and Minissha Lamba- This was the track which spoilt the movie for me. Although I liked Abhay Deol in Socha Na Tha, this track is the most unbelievable of the lot. One really feels very stupid after watching this story. I wonder what Reema was thinking when she wrote this plot. I seriously feel she has underestimated the audience. Even the childhood sequence of this pair was so irritating.
3) Amisha Patel and Karan Khanna- This was another irritating pair. I wonder why Amisha doesnt give up acting. The new guy Karan was equally bad. He reminded me of a monkey. Absolutely expressionless. This track is also very confusing as there seems to be no reason for the attraction that Karan has for Vikram Chatwal.
4) Vikram Chatwal and Sandhya Mridul- This was one track which could have been explored further. The final conclusion seems to be so abrupt. It is not clear whether Sandhya is gonna spend the rest of her life with Vikram who is a gay or is she gonna divorce him.
5) Boman Irani and Shabana Azmi- Superb acting from both. Boman matches Shabana scene for scene. They make a nice couple and Boman brings the screen alive. The only scene which didnt gel was when they are taking a motor bike ride and they meet his daughter.
6) Dia Mirza, Ranvir Shorey and Arjun Rampal- I believe that Ranvir is a great actor. He is amazing in whatever scenes that he has. It is a pity that he is not there throughout the movie. Dia Mirza is bad in this movie. I liked her in RHTDM and a few more movies. Arjun Rampal manages to make the movie worse and gives a horrible performance. The scenes are full of cliche.
Farhan Akthar and his productions seem to be going from bad to worse. I was surprised to read the glowing reviews that this movie got. Taran Adarsh seems to have lost his marbles though.
Although it is a low budget movie, I wish they had made it more entertaining.
The director seems to have a lot of quirks and I hope she doesnt direct such weird quirky films again.
Farah Khan was the only female director who was able to make an entertaining film like Main Hoon Na. Agreed that it is no classic but never do u feel bored during the movie.
