Got my UNICORN on JAN 25 2012. From day 1 I am loving it.
Its smoothness is just awesome and feel like going in a car while riding. But problem started with the suspension expect for first 2-4 days, it became quite hard may be because I rode it in few potholes unluckily.
All praises from knows and unknowns seeing my bike which is just shinning new(because of teflon coat) and its majestic looks so I wanted to maintain it in the future too.
Coming to riding, I got to know one thing about this bike, if you ride this BEAST in correct way it will fly like anything. It all depends on the rider. If you ride with good skills it will deliver its best in it pickup, top speed, mileage what not everything you expect from it while buying.
Done my first service at 558KM on 14/2/2012 I mentioned problems like front brake noise, suspension hardness and kick start problem during morning. Didn't feel the smoothness immediately but gradually I started raising rpm to 4000 clicks and found much smoothness and response to throttle than before. Mainly pickup is amazing, now I can drag it a little in traffic very easily and saving much time.
Coming to mileage it delivered 45 for first 250 km.
55 for next hundred(As I rode in less traffic and highway)
average I got around 52KM-PL till first service(I think its amazing as I rode 60-70% in heavy traffic along with pillion half of time(though it is not recommended).
Sure of getting 60 in highway. I filled it with 1ltr this morning to check the mileage after 1st service. Only one thing you have to do till first service is never go beyond 40KMPH and never raise it above 4000 rpm, avoid sudden acceleration, ride in as smooth way as possible. ua Beast will give a best start for its long and reliable life.
Few precautions to be taken are:-
1) Warm up ua bike compulsorily every morning with choke ON for 15-20 sec then raise throttle slowly to maintain the idle speed while OFFING the choke. Keep the Rpm at 2K and raise little by little in interval 5 to 10 sec and observe the response of engine for 2min and leave it for 1 min without raising.
If you follow this daily you can get the best PICKUP MILEAGE AND PERFORMANCE from this BEAST.
2) Avoid taking it in heavy traffic during run-in period at-least. Mostly try to avoid pillion and never give it to others to ride it till 5000KM. Use good petrol like HP or INDIAN OIL and fill it from same bunk always. It is neglected by many but it is actually very important. I use normal petrol. Try to keep the tank with good amount of petrol till first service.
