I have been searching for a good 150cc bike for quite some time.( I am using HH splendor for the past 9 Years) I have ridden almost all the two wheelers launched till date(Except those superbikes which are beyond the access).

If somebody says Honda Unicorn is beautiful, then he must be either lying or may not have seen a good bike. There is a scope for improvement in all fronts as far as the design is concerned. But all these things will be change once you start and started riding the bike.

Initially I was also skeptical about the performance of the bike. But the reviews are true, it is beyond imagination.

You can notice it as soon as the engine starts. It is a well refined engine. The gear box too is light and smooth.(The toe shift lever is actually a cut version of the earlier toe-heel shift lever, A multi-link lever would have reduced the load further). If you want to save your costly formal shoes, replace this gear lever with standard toe-heel shift gear lever which can be done without any problem.

Riding position is normal and it is good for long distance travels.(it may disappoint youngsters that it is not having the lean forward riding position)

Honda has done cost reduction wherever possible. Out of the two keys one is ordinary. Except rear view mirrors and saree guard all others are counted as accessories. The saddest part is the Number Plates which are statutory requirements are also considered as spare parts and are charged.

I have fitted a remote also in addition to other accessories which I feel is unnecessary. You can start/stop from the remote. You have to unlock and lock manually even after starting the engine. If you start from your remote you have to switch off from remote only. You can switch on the vibration sensor(by Pressing the lock key on the remote), it will then sound if some attempts to move or break open. This is good but it is too sensitive. If you engage it and a cat jumps on your bikeā€¦ you can imagine the rest.

Milage is yet to be checked. Hope it will give 50 to 55 kmpl for a normal riding.

The rear monoshock is good. It is not so stiff as noted by some of the members. It handles well with two persons. Nothing spl about the front forks. Front Disc brake is not too sensitive(Like pulsar) still it is good

The style of the bike is so conservative. It is not having any pilot lamps, digital speedo meter, led tail lamps, tubeless tyres(CBF stunner is coming with both tubeless tires) which are becoming industry standard now.

Hope Honda will upgrade it. If you want a stylish bike look else where. If you want a reasonably styled bike with good engine and shock absorbers then go for Unicorn.

It costed me Rs. 65500/- on road at Salem, Tamil Nadu. I have paid separately for accessories.

Honda service is not upto the mark. Honda has to learn a lot in terms of customer service. Honda must be knowing, it has to be brought to the dealer level.

Ultimately, it is Substance that propels the sales of Honda Unicorn not the style or Honda's marketing.
