I was not a gr8 fan of unicorn, though one of my techy friend was suggesting it as the best buy. the only thing which made me to worry abt Unicorn was all those graphic stickerings which gave it a a pathetic look. but on First week of May08, I was bringing back my sister when I just spotted the new Unicorn which looked stunning with the plain looks. Plain Black Unicorn with Honda emblem and just Unicorn close to the tailpiece. man. I just stopped my car and went to the showroom and enquired abt it.after 3 weeks, I decided to buy unicorn after a test drive. though the booking period was 3 months, thanks to the support from the showroom, I got the stylish unicorn within a month. from then on being Silent but still conquering is what i'm learning from her.Next to looks, the silence of the bike is what has attracted me a lot. though my office mandates me to wear a helmet, I go madly in love with my bike when I take off the helmet and take her for a long drive. you can listen even if ur neighbouring rider whispers.i'm basically a city rider. but I was sure that before my second service, i've got to take her to OOTY, my favourite biking spot. wow, that was one of an experience. the pleasant air and more pleasant bike. the bike along with my pillion rider, took us so smoothly in all the 14 hairpin bends, at almost 4th gear.the way she climbed the 2000 odd altitude its astonishing. think of race track laid in the sidelines of a mountain. thats how the route I chose for return journey. at 3.00pm, with mist making person at 100 feet dt invisible, we started climbing down. it was raining so badly that I worried about skidding and taking a very short route downs:-). but the bike gave me enough confidence that we were able to descend down without any hiccups. basically I don't push the throttle too much. but the road that day made me so. even then I restricted to 90s. the stretch allowed me to accelerate to 90 in about 6-7 seconds. you take good care of her and she gives back good milege. when you want to race up with another speedy, she responds immediately as if she had just completed a track. the bike's response on how you want to drive is excellent. couple of times i've made those pulsar 200's boil their energy to catch my unicorn, but in vein. until you open up the throttle, it will be as if you are driving a smooth toy, the moment you want to speed up, my goodness you'll wonder if you are driving a 300cc bike. but 2 small concerns about the unicorn is:1. the horn that comes with the bike is equally silent as the bike is. you ought to put in an additional air horn / or different horn to let others pave way for you2. the service has been reduced to 4 from 6. and the duration between each service is too short. i'm supposed to take her to the 4th service now, but i'm yet to clock the required kms for 3rd service.but the above 2 are passing clouds.that said, the new Honda Unicorn is really a SILENT CONQUEROR. it conquers the road and your heart. I really thank my friend who continously pushed me towards Unicorn.
